Ralph Lauren’s iconic RRL label joined the Blue Owl roster in 2019. 

For this campaign, I knew we had to create a set that was elegant and timeless, with a healthy dose of the brand’s signature Western flair.
I felt strongly that the editorial be shot entirely on film to obtain that raw quality that best matched the atmosphere of old RRL editorials, and give us the timeless look I was after.

The setting was easy: Seattle’s Discovery Park provided a variety of backdrops including sprawling fields and old military housing that felt right in line with the brand’s aesthetic. I opted for late afternoon light for a warmer tone and more depth in shadows. The hero shots of this campaign involved a simple canvas backdrop set in a sprawling field, which provided a clean unobstructed setting for key pieces and an impactful image all around.

The campaign was used throughout Blue Owl’s website, social media, and email marketing.
